Day of Peace & Healing for victims of Newtown Conneticut tragedyColoradans are organizing a day of peace for victims of Newtown, Connecticut School tragedy

Friday 6 am – 6 pm, 12/21/12, the one week anniversary of the shooting, at Civic Center Park, in Denver.

Members of the community are invited to stop by and offer prayers, peaceful contemplation and blessings throughout the day. A core group of community members are being called upon to sit in quiet meditation on peace and healing for a 12 hour period. 26 people, one for each victim of the shooting, will sit in one hour shifts holding an open, healing heart for each of the victims, family members and friends of the shooting.

The practice of compassion will be offered for the tragedy in Aurora and all other suffering locally, nationally and globally. Guided meditation will be offered by local wellness community leaders. Our community will be sitting in peace and harmony for all the suffering of all beings in the world in addition to the recent tragedy. If you can come during your lunch break for even 10 minutes your presence will be appreciated.

A healing children’s program is being organized so that all ages can come together to begin the healing process. Bring your kids from 4-6pm on Friday

To hold a space of peace we are looking for 312 people to sit in shifts throughout the day. Please email erik@openskyeventmarketing.com to sign up for a one hour healing meditation shift or to volunteer to organize this event. Everyone is invited to participate – no meditation experience is required.
